Catalyst co-founder Ira was born in Ohio and moved to MO at age 10. Sports have always held an important role in his life. In middle school, he discovered his love for soccer and continued to play in high school. He stayed late after school every day to practice and hone his skills, ultimately deciding to quit other sports to focus his time and energy solely on competitive soccer. He planned to continue playing in college until he tore a ligament in his hip. Although he continued to play despite the injury, his time in competitive sports was coming to an end and he began getting interested in the world of fitness.

Ira began getting help with workouts from Ethan, his older brother and co-founder, and Ethan’s friends. They were experienced and had already figured out which exercises were most effective, which saved Ira hours of trial and error and helped him see results faster than he thought possible. He put on 20 pounds of muscle in his first three months of lifting thanks to those mentors, who inspired his work at Catalyst Nutrition. Ira strives to be a mentor to others now, helping them save time and get the most from their workouts.
